Solid bar for a strip mall and McMenamins. Music was a little loud, server was Albert, very friendly talkative and helpful. Would be 3 stars without his great attitude. We didn't stay for food, but the menu has the usual McMenamins fare. Note: their local brewed Porter is delicious

First off, the in-house, handcrafted beer is absolutely the best! Although I mostly drink the hammer-head (HH), the multiple handcrafted beers on tap makes it nice when I feel like a change. I had the Communication Breakdown burger, which was quite good, especially with fresh cut fries, and even more so when paired with a couple of HH's. The service was very attentive with good attention to details. Manager's, Kora and Nathanlel are the some of the friendliest people you will ever meet, and so nice to talk with, with such entertaining senses of humor. I will definitely be going back for more!

Sweet service though the food was a bit challenged. My burger was a bit charred for medium well. Perhaps it was even charred for well done. I had one of my dad's fish tacos which were good but could have had better sauce or seasoning. As usual, the beer was great and we took a short tour of their brewery, a one room sensation where they make all the goods for us beer geeks to drink. If I'm ever back in Mill Creek, I'll surely stop in again even though I already have my passport stamp!

The beer is great ! The wait staff is very good. But you will never see any of the bartenders buy you a drink! No matter how much you spend or time spent going there. Always leave a good tip. You will never hear,,, Hey, we got this one! Thanks!!!

So nasty. I'm literally sitting here in the restaurant right now and was so disappointed by the abysmal food and service that I was moved to right the review while I'm still eating. The wrong food came, my friends asked for a medium burger and it's so burnt she can't even eat it. Don't waste your time or your money.

I had the Aztec salad. It was good but not my favorite. The place is a mix of Irish pub, BBQ, and Mexican. Interesting menu.

Odd booths...either the table is WAAAAY to close to the booth (no fatties allowed) - or...the booth is VERY far away from the table (for the fatties, I guess). They brew their own beer on site, and they have a large variety - We ordered a couple of different ones, and were very impressed with each one! Many Yelp reviews recommended the Cajun Tots (appetizer)...I wasn't overly impressed...they are your usual tater tots with some seasoned salt, served with a Peppercorn Ranch dressing. $8.50... Meh. We also ordered the Cajun Cobb Salad - Cajun-spiced chicken, bacon, chopped egg, blue cheese crumbles, tomato, romaine lettuce & blue cheese dressing ...for whatever reason this salad is $15.75, and the most expensive item on the menu. Hubby and I shared the tots and the salad, they split the salad up on two plates, and we weren't very hungry so it satisfied us. Our kids got the Mac n' Cheese, I didn't taste it, but it looked REALLY good. It wasn't Kraft. Wish I could give 3.5 stars...'cause the beer is the star of their restaurant.

Let me get the good things out of the way: The Cajun Tots were pretty good. Seasoned well, nice level of crispy. I liked them. That was the highlight of the evening. I tried hard to find anything else I liked, but I couldn't. I mean, even the tots weren't enough to bring it above a single star. Wife and I sat down, ordered a sampler of their beer and the Cajun tots, and told the waitress we'd order some more food in a bit. Our waitress brought out the beer for us, and some other dude brought out the tots. The our waitress disappeared. [Well, not totally disappeared - I mean, I have a vague recollection of seeing her off in the distance, but she never came close to approaching the table.] After sitting with empty water glasses for 5-10 minutes, I went up to the bar and had them refill the water. 25 minutes after our waitress was last at the table (I actually had a timer on this), I went up to the bar and told them that we'd like to order food. Some other person came and took our order. After that little fiasco, the service got quite a bit better, but still not what I would consider "good." Let's talk about the beer, since, you know, it's a brewery and all. For me, the beer ranged from "awful" to "mediocre". The porter and stout (which were nearly indistinguishable, a problem in and of itself) were my two favorites, but that's not saying much. The IPA was one of the worsts IPAs I've ever had - overly malty, almost no hop character, and tasted old, like it had been brewed at least a year earlier. The other hoppier beers weren't much better, including a couple that tasted a bit like feet to me. It has been a long time since I was so consistently underwhelmed by beer at a brewery. Tots aside, I didn't particularly care for the food. I ordered a burger medium-rare, and it came out well done. If I didn't think it would have taken another 1.5 hours, I would have sent it back. The egg on the burger was burned, too. The fries (cut to order, apparently), were underseasoned and boring. And to top it all off, I found out at dinner that my great-uncle died. So really fucking pleasant evening. [And lest you think this colored my review, I didn't find out until the end of the meal, and ALL the awfulness happened before that.] So yeah... probably won't be back.

Great beer brewed on-site. Don't come expecting to order a Coors. Knowledgable waitstaff can guide you to something you'll like though. Waitstaff is friendly. I only ordered a cup of soup which was tasty and homemade so I can't comment too much on the food. The table behind me were raving about the burgers, which is always a good sign!

Came here to celebrate my promotion with my wife, family, and cousin. Service was actually quite good. Our server checked with me to be sure my order was correct. Drinks came out promptly. The best part about this place is that it's quiet. I could actually hear the table conversations. Food was good. Better beers. Would give it a five but the food was just good, not great.

Wow. This restaurant establishes new frontiers when it comes to bush league service. We arrived last night with the notion of buying a gift card for the place for some friends, but wanted to try it out ourselves just to make sure it was up to snuff. No. Importantly, it was NOT CROWDED! Arrived at 7:30 on a Wednesday night. Very few patrons present. We made very simple orders--sandwiches, burgers, chicken fingers. 35 minutes later, our waitress explained that "kitchen was really slammed" (curious given the dearth of diners) and invited us to choose a board game to play from a cabinet while we waited. Two issues here: 1. If a monumental wait was expected, why let 35 minutes pass before this offer? 2. And as our 11 year old son pointed out, the very presence of a huge cache of games is a foreboding sign of the level of speed and service one can expect here. After half a game of Pictionary, the food finally arrived an hour after our order. And then....astoundingly, no napkins or silverware. Had long forgotten that we'd need them, but had to ask. Brought forks and napkins in a single pile, not distributed. Daughter had to request knives. ONE was then brought for the entire table to share. Seriously? The meal itself? TNT chicken strips--bland, blindingly white meat inside. Almost certain try were actually fish strips, but others at the table disagreed. Cajun Tots ( the proclaimed signature dish): Ore Ida, meet McCormick Cajun Seasoning shaker. Not restaurant quality. Peppercorn Ranch Dipping Sauce: No flavor. Surprising. Just open a bottle of Hidden Valley and you'll be ahead of the game. Pink Cream Nitro Ale (or some such name):smooth to the point of blandness, completing the tasteless trifecta of my meal. Only my son's report of a tasty burger staved off the One Star. Needless to say, no gift card was purchased. We like our friends.

Awesome place! Today was my first time there. The atmosphere was nice and clean. The customer service was really friendly and attentive. I ordered a burger with Cajun tots! The burger was big and the Cajun seasoning was really good!!!! It was quick and they remembered all of my fixins! A funny thing happened the ketchup bottle cap wasn't all the way on and I got ketchup all over my hoodie I was ok but the staff insisted on finding me a shirt and even covered mine and my bf entire tab! I was amazed at the service! And how much they really cared. I will for sure be back!!! I didn't get to drink Cuz I forgot my ID lol but next time I will try their signature drinks.

Ehh. The best thing about this place was the tots and the sticker we got. I won't totally knock this place down, but the beers weren't that wonderful. We tried the sampler tray of beers, which was $6.75 for 6 beers... a good value but that was the happy hour price... so I am not sure what they charged on off times, We also got Cajun Tots for $3-something and Fries for $2 (Again HH pricing!) The tots were so good. The rest of the HH menu were lacking... they had burgers for around $10 which to me is NORMAL pricing, Also, their wings are like from a baby chick. Seriously there is like almost NO chicken on the tiny wing and they charge a boat-load for them!! ($12.50-ish for 10 wings I believe... possibly more.) My favorite beers were the Hammerhead Red and the Terminator Stout. We collect stickers for our beer fridge, so naturally we asked the waiter if they had stickers. He brought back a few really cool stickers that looked like bottle labels! Niiiice!!! It was a cheap night for drinks and eats, unfortunately just didn't love the beer or atmosphere... it felt too restaurant-y to me.

I've heard great things about McMenamins, so I thought I would give it a try. If I had to sum it up in one word it would be, BLAH. The food, the atmosphere and the service were all BLAH. Pro's and Con's: I was happy that I could bring my little boy there for dinner. The server was new and didn't know jack. My fish and chips were "blackened" and not in a good, southern kind of way. My son's mac-n-cheese was more bland that Kraft out of the box. My $3 lemonade tasted like it was a powdered lemonade mix out of a can. My son's apple cider was delish! The tartar sauce was delish! Our food came out quickly, but I noticed the two tables next to us, who ordered shortly after we did, had to wait an extremely long time and were annoyed. I would not go back. Way over-priced for what we got.

I'm updating my review because of the impressive and fast manner in which the management responded to my complaints. It was less than 24 hours before I was contacted and they went above and beyond to make the situation right. That is the kind of customer service and experience that has made me a Mcmenamins fan and a passport holder! I think the experience I had was due to sudden staffing problems and is not the norm for the Mill Creek location in the least.

  • Dave M.

Not a good experience here. Waiter tried to pull a fast one and gave me the wrong change. When I mentioned the error he corrected it admitting way too quickly the error of his ways, which seemed like an intentional deception hoping I wouldn't notice. Food was a C-, soggy fries totally undercooked. Beer isn't bad, so that's the only thing going for this place. Luckily there are lots of great microbreweries here in the Seattle area. I'll be heading to one of those establishments next time. If you go here, be sure to verify you were charged correctly and given appropriate change. Not to be trusted in my opinion.

I lovvvvve this cool place, it's unique and wonderful! The burgers are out of this world, these folks care about food, beer and Customer service. The staff is so friendly and genuine, this is one of the last real craft beer and pub food places. What a great experience!

Terrible. I don't know how this company has managed to grow into so many locations. The beer is awful, the food is WAY over priced, and the smell when you walk into the Mill Creek location is about as offensive as you can get. They have carpet throughout (first mistake for a pub or restaurant) and it smells like they haven't washed it since they first opened. In fact, the smell is so bad that it's almost as if they took used carpet from another restaurant that was already old and dirty, and installed it before they opened. We only drank half our beer and only ate about 1/3 of the $14 pita plate we ordered and left. Seattle is one of the best places in the country to enjoy a local mico-brew. Do yourself a favor and visit some of the other places in the area.

I'm use to slow service at McMenamins at the Oregon locations but the service at this location and the food quality suck ass as the worst ever. I went to Mcdonalds when we left and had a burger, not kidding and it was good, fast and consistent and much cheaper and the nice drive thru people smile and say hello. 1/25 was the day we visited. Saturday night, place was not full so we were really not worried about service. I was visiting from out of town and the other two people live in Seattle and are Oregon McMenamin's transplants and wanted to visit the place. Our server was a young Jerry Garcia who was trying to service half the restaurant. Ordered a Cajun tot to start. When an hour came and went and no tots, I knew we were going to be in for it. When we asked young Garcia, he disappeared and mysteriously had the tots, we actually could not tell if they were Cajun but we didn't care because we were hungry. His excuse was comical and full of shit. When a server makes up excuses then they forgot to put the order in. Three of us ordered three burgers. Now this McMenamins has a very limited menu. After tracking down young Garcia ( he was pouring drinks in the bar area?) I said what about the actual food? It has been forever at this point and he goes brings out the burgers. See a pattern here, I ask he brings. Two burgers were wrong and one was correct. One person got soup instead of fry's or tots. Soup was water. Now I didn't eat the burger because the patty was a hockey puck. I asked young Garcia he said, oh yah it is and he went and brought back another burger within 45 seconds. Same thing hockey puck I refused it. When you bring me a burger in under a minute it means you are holding patties that are mass cooked because the kitchen is out of control. The other two people not pleased but ate because they were starving. I however will not give in to crap food. Young Garcia clearly knew at this point that we were not very happy. This is his explanation. He said the kitchen only had two people tonight and that one of the guys cooking or missing had transmission trouble and blah blah blah blah. Who the hell tells a customer this? Where was a manager? Why not tell your customers you are going to be slow instead of making stupid shit up. So if you go, bring some snacks, a picture of how you want your food to look and a notepad and pen because you will be writing this same review shortly.

Great neighborhood bar. Super friendly staff. Good food and service. We spent a lot of time here while re-building our home. Food is always delicious. We look forward to weekly visits.

My fav afternoon decompression stop! Awesome beer, great tots, great service. Honey thinks I may be here to often, but I only stop by on days ending with 'Y'. Beef sliders are awesome, along with all the menu items I have tried.. Staff is friendly and treats you as if you are at home!

Have an Eraser double IPA, if there's any left... otherwise the Billy Club IPA will do! Hummus plate did the trick to curb a hankering till real food. Albert was a joy on a rainy day!

We were looking for a place to get a beer and a burger. We ended up getting a beer and a basket of deep fry oil. The beer is good, the service was awesome, and the food needs to be forgotten. I took the left over grease from my burger to lubricate my squeaky car door. My wife ordered fish and chips, and couldn't find the fish that was mixed with the fries in the basket. Yes the fish was that small. I think a kid is still crying because someone deep fried his gold fish. If it wasn't for the beer and the servers, easily two stars.

This is a solid little pub and eatery in Mill Creek. It's a little strip mall joint, but they've taken some care to bring it off as a welcoming neighborhood pub. Lots of hanging house plants, lots of dark wood booths, a great big dark wood bar. The art ranges from hippie-ish to soccer-mom-ish. But it sets a good tone for the clientele they must get around here. The food is burgers, salads, sandwiches, and a few apps, including the justifiably well-known Cajun Tots. The Communication Breakdown (also justifiably well-known) is a great burger. Occasionally some interesting house beers will show up on draft, but they always have the well-known McMenamin's mainstream lineup--Terminator, Ruby, Hammerhead, etc. By and large the service here ranges from really nice and laid-back to pretty slow and disorganized, depending on the day and the turnover. But it's never rude. I'm glad to have one of their spots near me, though I am very eager to see their local historical restoration projects in Tacoma and Bothell get done. Dig what these guys are doing.

My boyfriend and I came here for a birthday party several months ago. Our seats were comfortable and the wait staff was pretty constant with checking on the large group. The beer offerings were solid as usual with any McMenamins you might visit. We decided to split a main and a salad between us. The salad was beautifully made with heaps of greens, blue cheese crumbles, roasted hazelnuts and marinated red onions. I requested light dressing so the kitchen used a raspberry-Ruby Ale vinaigrette sparingly. We both enjoyed the ingredients and didn't balk at the $10 price tag too much. The main dish was another story. In a word, it was a lackluster. We went with a classic: fish + chips. The menu boasted wild Alaskan cod dipped in their ale batter with fresh-cut fries, tartar sauce and buttermilk coleslaw. For nearly $12.00, we received three small pieces of greasy fish, limp fries and flavourless cole slaw. I rarely salt my food but I was salting the heck outta that slaw. We were there long enough that I invariably craved something sweet. I asked the bartender what they had and he listed a few sweet options. I went with the carrot cake which ended up being an overpriced sliver of cake : (

Every time I eat here, someone in my party gets ill. I have some doubts about the kitchen. Service is really inconsistent; some staff are great and others... not so much. My friends who are die-hard McMennamins fans are taking this location off their list. If I go back, it'll be drinks only, and I'll be prepared to wait for service.

Located right off of Bothell Everett Hwy in Mill Creek, McMenamins is one tasty place to visit. The location has a very "welcome home" feel to it and although there are a decent amount of McMenamins locations around the Pacific Northwest, there is no large corporate feel it to. It truly feels like a place you can go, relax and feel like you are in a family business. The food is amazing, the portion sizes are large, the quality is top of the line and the menu selection is just right. With their burgers, they do not have the biggest toppings variety on the menu, but keep in mind you can essentially build your own (although this comes with a price for some items). The beer selection is great, and being many are their private label, they are very knowledgeable about the tastes , what they pair with and they are always served chilled and fresh tasting. McMenamins is a wonderful treat and I highly recommend it to friends! There is a small amount of out door seating for nice days (however, it is in a strip mall on a busy road so the view isnt the best...).

Sunday lunch, slow service, out of menu items, had to re-order drinks 4 times before having it brought to our table. Server seemed short, and rushed. Refills were brought slowly too.

The barbecue wings are great (and that's really something coming from a Southern girl), and the peppercorn ranch dressing that comes with them is TO DIE FOR. I swear, I almost drank the stuff straight, and I don't even like ranch that much. Our waiter was a total sweetheart who made us all feel right at home. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I didn't see any water being served, which is usually recommended if several pitchers of beer are at the table. Granted, I probably should've asked, but I don't think we should have to. :)

The prices here have been out of control for years. don't understand why. It's not like it's fine cuisine.....It's pub grub for the most part.....Bottomline, lower the prices on everything. I used to come in a lot in the 90's and early 00's, when prices were still reasonable. Also, add more options to the happy hour food menu. You at least used to have chicken strips, bring them back.

  • Emily C.

The food is really good, but the service is hit and miss. I've always loved the food here. The fries are delicious, the salads are always crisp, and the burgers are messy and perfect. However, they seem a little short staffed most of the time, so sometimes the service is great and other times you can wait a long time for get a drink refill (unless you're willing to get up and get one from the bar). It's just a hair more bar than restaurant, and I'd prefer it to be a bit more restaurant.

As a loyal McMenamins customer and passport holder I am utterly embarrassed to say that I visited your Mill Creek location yesterday afternoon. It was the most appalling and repulsive experience I have EVER had at any of your locations. My husband and I have been to quite a few of your locations in Oregon and Washington. Living down the street from the Anderson School House has us eagerly awaiting the grand opening. Let me list the things that I observed yesterday that should make you raise an eyebrow and perhaps pick your jaw up from the floor. 1. The stench of old spilled beer permeated through out the restaurant. 2. My feet stuck to the bathroom floor. 3. The kitchen is open to the public and if i hadn't already eaten my food-I would have NEVER ordered anything from this establishment. Old food all over the floor, people standing around in the kitchen talking, music blasting, all the kitchen staff appeared to be under the influence of some kind of drug. Dirty hands. Witnessed a kitchen staff member leave the restroom WITHOUT washing their hands. No aprons on so clothes touching food. 4. Wait staff seemed to be irritated to have to help anybody. 1 girl was clearly high on something and not well groomed. She had greasy hair and looked like she had been up for days. She was wearing yoga pants and a dirty tee-shirt. At one point she was chewing her gum so fast and shaking so bad that i thought she was going to pass out and so all she could to keep it together was to chew the gum. Her eyes were SO big and pupils pinpoints that it was obvious she was under the influence of something. Who appeared to be her boyfriend came in and made himself a mocha at the coffee bar with his dirty hands. Looked like he had been up for days and not showered for weeks. She was shaking so bad that she couldn't even lift a glass of water to a customer. 5. Appeared to be no manager on site so the days activities weren't being monitored thus giving the "we can do whatever we want" vibe. 6. So called brewery was disgusting. Dirty, stinky and repulsive. I am sorry to have write this to you as I am huge fan of McMenamins. I will not go back to this location nor recommend it to anybody. I rave about Edgefield, Gearhart and Kennedy School so I was excited to be able to go and experience the McMenamins experience close to home.... NEVER AGAIN!!! I suggest drug testing all your employees and a scrub down from top to bottom. This location is going to give McMenamins a bad reputation. It's a shame really.

We came here on a Friday evening around 7PM. Restaurant was self seating. As we sat down the lady bussing the table told us someone else would be our waitress. We sat for 15 min. and Nobody came by. We even had to grab our own menus. Eventually, I had to go to the bar to ask for our order to be taken. When I asked who our waitress was supposed to be, it turned out it was the girl who bussed our table earlier! We ordered the Communication Breakdown burger and a dungeon burger. The tator tots are good, the burgers are average, but the service ruined our entire experience. I've eaten at many other Mcmenamin's, but never again at the Mill Creek location.

I went here with a few friends and shared a few beers, the wine sampler, and some french fries. I did not order a regular meal, so I can not speak to the quality of all their food options - but the fries were amazing! Fresh cut in the back and still piping hot when they came out. The beer was amazing as well! Tried an IPA and a Wheat - I don't usually like IPAs, but this one was actually good. I'd recommend coming here for a drink after work anytime!

My boyfriend and I had a GREAT date here. The booths are comfy, the bartender rocked, and the food was great for the price. We came here before HH for one drink before I had an appt. in Mill Creek, we left for my appt and came back to try the HH. We are so glad we came back! We got cajun tots for $2 ($7 on non-HH), pita & hummus for $2 and each a side salad for $6 total. So for around $10 we grubbed on some good food. The tots are similar to Taco Times- but they really did hit the spot. The hummus was lacking flavor but then I reminded myself I need to diet anyways. On another night we ordered the wings, although they were expensive ($11.95) they proved to be flavorful without the classic Franks sauce. These are definitely for people who can't handle heat but still want to enjoy wings. Next time I may ask for some extra sauce on the side to kick it up a notch. Also, for the price they I was hoping for more wings since they weren't that meaty. I know nothing about beer but my boyfriend said the IPA was good. My wine was great. This will probably become one of our new favorite places.

My boyfriend and I come into McMenamins in Mill Creek quite a bit, we love the beer and it is very close to our house. The service is terrible, it always takes over 15 minutes for someone to greet us and give us menus, it takes another 10 minutes for them to bring us our beer, and it takes another 25-30 minutes to bring us our food. It seems so disorganized there, they either need to get all new staff or hire more employees.. 2 waitresses is NOT enough especially during happy hour. My boyfriend and I were there last night, sat down, 15 minutes later a lady came up to us and asked if we had been helped? Told her no.. (She was not even our waitress) She took our drink order, I asked for menu's she came back with our beer and no menus.. I had to get up and grab the menu's myself. Our waitress (Tawnya) finally came out took our order and about 30 minutes later delivered our food, asked if we needed anything else, my boyfriend asked for some ranch.. she never came back except to give us our bill. As we were about to leave the first lady who asked if we had been helped tried to give us an order of food that was not even ours? I am not one to complain, or write reviews (I have never written a review before).. I just feel McMenamins would do SO much better if these things were fixed.

When I travel to the Pacific NW, I make it a point to go to a McMenamins whenever I can. Luckily, I had the opportunity to visit the Mill Creek location last week and it was as good as any. Since it has been years since my last visit, I had to take a refresher course and ordered the tasting sampler of beer. Just as I remembered, my favorites were the Amber Ale and the Terminator Stout. That stout is the real deal!!!

McMenamins... I've been here a couple times and think I can say that the food is consistently mediocre (c'mon, even I can make a burger that isn't dry) but the beer keeps me coming back. The stout is one of my favorites being produced. After a couple it makes the plain food more tolerable and just keeps this review above 2 stars.

I am a huge fan of the McMenamin's enterprise, but this place was just all right. Though I admit that their tater tots and sweet potato fries are amazing. If anything, just come here for those and drinks. Came here for a date. I would recommend this for a date place. Casual. Good service and a good selection of munchies, and booze!!! I was disappointed with the architecture of the place because the one in Olympia and Portland are just so well decorated and preserved. This one was in a small plaza. Drove by it so many times. Nothing distinct and typical of McMenamin's - which is being atypical.

Service sucks, people not so friendly. Waited 15 minutes and left. To busy BSing between themselves even after trying to wave them to get some service. This place could be a gem with some needed leadership, better servers...

Was not as busy as I expected for a Friday but the patio was packed. Double IPA for an appetizer was excellent, crisp, hoppy and not too heavy like most doubles. Service was prompt and with a smile. Food was very good, we had burgers and fries and they were good. A little more attention should be paid to cooking burgers medium but I understand its tough to do with a 1/3lb patty. Was a Lil over but still good. We will be back soon!!

In with a group for just a few drinks. Pretty old school place, with lots of wood and open space inside. It's located in a strip mall, so there is plenty of parking. Uh, I'm running out of positives here. Beer was okay, but I was expecting something a little more. Not much in the way of appetizing food, so I passed. Disappointing.

This is a McMenamins bar, nothing more, nothing less. With that, even one of their basic bars is still worth a visit. The bar here is in the center in its wooden majesty. I can't help think it reminds me of the McMenamins bar in Queen Anne, and the Ringlers Bar in Portland. They're sort of cookie cutter, but hey, if it works, why mess. They do serve food here, and of course have some of their decent brews. If you're in the area and looking for a chill place to chill, chill here.

I went here a few weeks ago and was not impressed. I went in expecting some high quality beer and they did not deliver. Their beer was of the same quality of my friends custom brews. The food was lackluster as well.

Moved back to the area so hubby wanted to try this place again. It's a find your own seat kind of place and not too many from the inside. We waited for about 5 minutes for a menu while a server past us up twice and just smiled at us. When our server Jay came to help us he was really nice. He looked like he was the only person working his butt off serving and running the bar. There was two big table another server was helping so she didn't seem to interested in helping . I ordered the mushroom cheeseburger with fries my husband got the chicken strip basket with tater tots. At first bite my cheeseburger was good but with another bite I noticed the edge all around the patty was really charbroiled. The patty could use some salt and pepper for seasoning too. The fries tasted burnt maybe that is how their fries are supposed to be. The chicken strips were really good though. Hot, white meat and not a lot of breading which we liked. Overall we won't be going back. Looks like a nice selection of beers but I'm not a beer drinker. If you want a good burger go down the road a little more to Blazing Onion.

Have been here a handful of times over the past few years and it's usually rather dead inside (with the service being just as dead). However, I came with 6 adults and baby a couple of Fridays ago around 6pm and the place was slammed. There were zero seats available on the kid-friendly side of the establishment and the other side didn't look very promising either. We were about to leave when a booth became available so we waited for the table to be cleared and piled in. Yes, I mean piled. Try wedging 6 adults (4 being grown men) in a normal sized booth. All-in-all the waitress did a great job tending to us while working the resting of the restaurant. She got all of our orders right and kept the drinks coming at a reasonable pace. Better experience than we'd had here in a long time.

We went there for a quick bite before the movie Friday night. It was not busy at all, but filled with few young couples with toddlers, who look like they have been enjoying the end of Happy Hour menu. Besides messy and dirty tables, the service was so slow. Menu was disappointing with mostly burgers and sandwitchs. It took 30 minutes to get our food and our waitress never stopped by to apologize. Even after food arrived, she never refilled our drinks or asked how food was. Portion was tiny for dinner. Vegetarian sandwitch was loaded with grease and cheese. Burger was dry and small. Beer was terrible, too. What a dissapointment!! Since we live in the area, I wanted to make this place one of the favorite places. But, there is no way we will return. They need to lower the price for tha crappy food and service. I would rather go to Wendy's. It's too bad Mill Creek has no decent restaurant for a simple dinner besides Thai or Mexican restaurants.

I am from Portland and love McMenamins. However, this location is sub-par. The service really isn't that great. They got rid of the best thing on the menu, the American dip! Their happy hour is great, but the menu is small. The drinks aren't strong enough for the price! And well....mama needs a strong drink.

Couldn't live without Terminator and Hard Cider with Cajun Tots. If you're looking for something a little different, check out what Nitro they have on tap. In addition to beer, they also make their own wine, roast coffee, and at least two kinds of hard alcohol. We spend every Thursday night here. The service isn't always speedy, but they make up for it in good ole fashioned customer service. Don't come expecting the mega-restaurant in-and-out speed. The inside of the pub is amazing. The painted walls look more like a fairytale art installment then pub interior design. The copper-topped bar is beautiful and the booths will remind you of a dark alley pub in the ole' country. The food here is unique. The specials rotate monthly and always offer a great selection of sandwiches or fare you'd never think to find. Come for happy hour, you can usually get a burger, tots, and beer for less then $10. There's an outdoor patio and large indoor tables that easily hold 8 people. In summary, come for happy hour, but avoid Friday night, unless you're willing to wait.

This isn't the best McMenamins I've ever been to, maybe even the worst., but at least it's something. We have so few options for dining in the MIll Creek/South Everett/Snohomish area, so I'm glad that it's there. The service is extremely poor and slow, but the atmosphere is nice. Food is ...ok. I'd recommend this place for happy hour and appitizers, but it's not really a good place for dinner. The wings are surprisingly good... i also love the hummus plate, but that's about it. Cons: bad service, not especially good food Pros: atmosphere, great happy hour prices, and.... it's better than applebee's =/

McMenamins is lots of fun! Live music on Wed and Thurs nights, trivia on Monday nights. There is an outdoor fire pit to warm your toes, while enjoying a delicious pint during their late night happy hour. Sometimes there is a wait during their busiest times, but the wait staff will be sure to keep the beer pouring. For those who don't like beer, there is a full bar with great cocktail specials. My favorite thing on the menu is the cheese steak sandwich and their fresh cut fries. All the dressings and most of the food is made form scratch. The staff is friendly and gracious to families with little kids. I will always come back!

This place is hit or miss. Afternoon fine, late night until close fine, in between WTF? Hot wings are obviously frozen as they were still partially frozen when brought out. More than once I've had to ask 45 minutes after my order was taken, where's my food? Oh, it hasn't been started because you forgot to put it in or you pissed the cook off so bad he deep 6'd you. This place seems under maned during rush hours. Beers good food is good but I think because it's a chain it suffers.

Not the most inspiring location for the franchise. Where as other locations have a lot more character, this is located in a strip mall. Boo. The interior is decorated fine--there are high-back wooden booths around the exterior and the centrally-located bar that add some interest. They have an outdoor patio but with plastic chairs and location right next to Hwy 527, it's not a great option. The menu is fairly basic, with sandwiches and hamburgers the main staples. About 5 salads, a few other appetizers/entrées, but not much else. I've been here a few times and had the fish and chips, cheeseburger, and a few sandwiches--all mostly average. Nothing too offensive, but just forgettable. Lots of char on the burger--so much that it was almost bitter. Entrées are around $10 and up; not terribly reasonable for middle-of-the-road. My favorite meal so far has been the Maria's Masterpiece sandwich (turkey, swiss, grilled onions, bacon). The secret sauce that comes on it has horseradish, however, so I have opted out. I also had corn chowder there once that was pretty tasty, but it's not a daily option. The ales are also a fun adventure-sample tray is a good way to try them all. The biggest disappointment is the service. Any time it's even slightly busy, it is horrible and slow. The last time we where there, several tables were open toward the back where we were sitting (right by the kitchen doors where the servers all go) and it took nearly 20 minutes for us to be even acknowledged (the perils of their 'seat yourself' policy or just lack of awareness--patrons that came in after us got service much faster). It appeared the wait staff were even deliberately avoiding our eye contact, and we were trying to obtain it in order to get some service. When we were noticed, service was decent time-wise. The waitress most recently acted like we were an inconvenience to her. Recommendation: drive a little farther to take in a pub with better location, food, and service for a more enjoyable experience.

This is a great place to hang out. The atmosphere is inviting--lots of wood booths and pub art (signs, etc.) on the walls. You have a surprising amount of privacy as you nosh and talk your night away. The waitstaff does a great job of both making sure you have what you need and leaving you alone. I've spent hours in here without feeling like I was bugging the waiters. The food is decent enough for pub-grub. It's the usual fare: burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. My husband swears by their mac and cheese which is super creamy and rich. The beers are yummy and well priced. You can eat here and barely make a dent in your wallet. Since I live out in the boonies, the location is great for me. Just a few miles from home! If you find yourself up in the burbs, check this place out.

A little unsuspecting spot in Mill Creek happens to be one of the best kept secrets...well not for long. McMenamins is a great little place with stellar drafts. Fun decor with dark lighting. Dark wood furniture and a great bar. Didn't have the food, but the tater tots smelled spectacular. I've heard that the food is pretty good. I will probably try their food, but have enjoyed their libations thoroughly.

I have been twice and both times a bit disappointed. The staff working there are great, but everything seems a bit overpriced. When I think "mcmenamins" I think of a unique place with fun atmosphere. This is in a strip mall and doesn't have that same feel for sure.

My friends love the happy hour here, 3-6 I do believe with some great prices on hummus and cajun tots. My friend insists there is nothing like the flavor of cajun tots, we even debated the ingredients. I love the large wooden tables. The info about the other locations. The large parking lot. The beer selection. Ruby ale is my favorite and I usually get the hummus platter. Its nice to sit on the patio on a warm day.

They have delicious hard cider! I will be back simply because of that! It's hard to find cider on the menu 'round these parts, and now that I've found it, this will most certainly be my go-to place for a drink or two. It's cozy and the servers are friendly... and stands out to me as a more relaxing place to enjoy a drink and perhaps a snack or a meal. I've only tried the tater tots (delicious! seriously!) and the fries (okay, on the greasy side), but they had a fair amount of food to choose from. Prices for the food seemed a little on the steep side. Even most of the salads were in the $12-range, as I recall. Still, a definite recommend for the north end.

Went here mid-week with husband and son. Beer was great, food was ok. I miss their "endless fries" which I think they used to do and the big fat fries to boot. Now they're little and scrawny and you get about a handfull. Prices are quite substantial for what you get, i.e., my husband's fish and chips was exactly 2 pieces of fish, fries, and a smattering of cole slaw. That cost $12. Seems a little high. The burger I had was tasteless and my son's Monte Cristo - eh - not exciting. Jazz on Wed.? Well, it was ok. Honestly, this place in Mill Creek is like a place where tired, older, more mature people like to go and drink. Will probably pass from now on. There's better out there for what it cost us total.

A great brewpub. The house beers are excellent, the food delicious pub fare, and the atmosphere very comfortable. I popped in for a beer and burger just to see what it was like and enjoyed it immensely. The price is a bit on the highside for a pub menu, but the quality of the food is a bit higher than what I've encountered in other brewpubs. Your mileage may vary, but if you're in the mood to try some good northwest beers and enjoy some great pub food then this is a great place for ya

I'll start off by saying I love McMenamins. And I enjoy the fact I can come here and get a Rubinator close to home, or a bottle of Black Rabbit Red. However, this is my least favorite McMenamins I have been to. Firstly, it's in a friggin strip mall. Secondly the service has never been consistently good here. The food is mediocre, but I feel that way about all of the McMenamins bars. The only time I really enjoy the food is when I stay at one of their hotels that have the fancier restaraunts inside. Overall, I'll say this "Access to McMenamins beer and wine in Snohomish County is better than having to drive to Seattle."

    (2)
  • Kevin B.

McMenamins has some good beer brewed on site that are reasonably priced and high on flavor. The beer is the only reason to frequent this pub though because the food is sub-par. I didn't think it was possible to hose up fish and chips but they can. Burgers taste like they're straight from the freezer and do not live up to equivalent establishments. I would recommend eating dinner at a nearby restaurant and then coming here for some beer and socializing.

  • Jon E.

The upside: I cannot recall having a bad meal here. From the fish and chips to the burgers to the wraps, everything has been well done and tasty. And while it might be easy to complain about the portions, they serve what is probably a correct portion, not an American portion for those of you who think "big boned" is sexy. It's not, fatty. Hit the treadmill. But you won't necessarily have to hit the treadmill eating here because the food should fill a normal person and not allow you to gorge. That right there is a positive. The beers....not something I'm particularly qualified to comment on since I've never had them. However, my dear wife who is a beer conniseur swears that the beers are worth the trip. This also is not something for the standard Miller or Budweiser drinker. These are murky, cloudy things that you cannot see your fingers on the other side. So if that's your thing, better skip across the street to Baxters where a full set of teeth isn't required. So with that, why oh why do they get three stars? Service. And that's not a dig on the people that work there because every time they've been pleasant and friendly. No, service here is just dog slow. And that's not even accurate. Tortoise slow is probably more on par. If the building were properly air conditioned to where I would form ice on my earlobes, today would be an ideal day to eat at McMenamins. But no. We clocked initial ordering @ 10 minutes in which isn't terrible, but an hour to get food which was terrible, especially for something relatively simple. All in all if I'm in a patient lounge about mood? Sure, I'll go back. If I have things to do and the meal is a stopping point that I want to enjoy but not enjoy waiting for? I'll cruise up to O'Donnells or elsewhere.

Went for lunch -- fish and chip- tasteless, cole slaw - tasteless, husband's sandwich-tasteless, french fries - tasteless. My husband had his "secret sauce" on the side which was a good thing for two reasons 1. It was wasabi based - he hates wasabi - might be good if the restaurant mentioned that since it is unusual. 2. I love wasabi so I dipped my fish it in for flavor. We both left the fries on our plates - yes they were that bad, greasy, mealy, flavorless. We don't drink beer - so can't speak to that. Staff was nice, decor was nice. We won't be back.

Happy hour is fantastic, but beyond that I rarely visit due to food prices. Beer selection is great, but staff are somewhat disinterested. Cajun tots and hummus from the HH menu are both solid choices.

Great neighborhood bar! This is the place I go when I meet a friend for drinks and appetizers. I always order the Porter, though the Ruby, Hammerhead and Stout are fantastic too. I am addicted to their cheeseburgers and find it hard to order anything else, but when I have strayed from the cheeseburger, everything else has been good too. I love this place . . .or any McMenamins, really - they all have great beer and wine, great food (can you say crispy cajun tater tots with ranch?) and you really can't beat the prices for what you get. The atmosphere is warm, woody and old-timey and the booths are private. The copious amounts of polished wood is definitely a trademark of the McMenamin establishment and there is no shortage of it here. The only weird thing about this particular McMenamins is that it's in a strip mall near Jiffy Lube and Safeway. The usual McMenamins establishment is in an old school or hotel and has real character, so the strip mall thing is a bit bizarre if you know the chain. That being said. . . once you get inside, the ambiance makes you completely forget you are in a strip mall next to Check into Cash. Their late night happy hour (after 10pm) is ridiculous - $2 burgers! What is this,1982?? That price absolutely rocks for the couple trying not to spend $50 every time they go out for dinner. The service is very laid back and can be a bit hit and miss in terms of speed, but overall the ambiance and food make up for the sometime slowness of the staff. I just adjust the tip accordingly :)

There are not that many places in and around the Bothell/Mill Creek area to hang out for a drink...unless you consider the lounge at a Denny's a neato place to hang out. I've always thought their motto should be, "If you can pronounce our name correctly, you're cut off for the night". But this is a pertty chill place. It lacks the uber-pretentiousness or uber-chain feel that permeates the suburbs. WIth that, the possibilities of what you could do here enjoyably are kind of endless. Groups, intimate get togethers, or just needing time alone for awhile. 3.5 stars. I'd raise it if they were closer to my house, or used my suggested motto

Excellent brew-pub in Mill Creek. Honestly, I've never had a bad meal here. They draft all their own beers, all of which are quite good as well. Very chill atmosphere, have never had bad service either. Everyone raves about the tater tots, and they are actually pretty good, I guess I'm just not a tot fan in general. But if you've never tried them, you probably should. Prices are a little high I suppose, but with two people you can probably enjoy a dinner for around $25 or so. Of course this is only one location of this NW chain. There are others all over the place; Seattle, Olympia, etc. And of course, if you like this place you HAVE to check out their home base/headquarters/brewery/lodge the EDGEFIELD just north of Portland. Can't stress enough - Totally Awesome Retreat!

Remember that show - "Cheers"? ...."Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came...." OK, so maybe they don't know your name (although I bet they can if you come often enough) but the atmosphere of the place is exactly as warm and inviting as it was on Cheers, only fewer Hollywood stars are there (if you don't count me, that is :). This is one of those few places that has loads of established character, and style that is very relaxed yet clean. The interior is un-intimidating, and you've got super cool seating choices. Large tables in wooden booths where you can have a lot of space and privacy just in case your mother-in-law is complaining about something again. You can opt for some tall bistro tables where you can just share an appetizer and a cozy conversation over a drink with your love or if you're alone you can choose to sit by the bar which is roomy and always exciting. I love the idea of a place that feel like a bar but you are welcome to come with your kids. The menu is a traditional comfort food, and what else would you want in a place that feels so much like home. If you ever feel like an appetizer you must go for the veggies and humus dip. They make their own humus, that is absolutely superb, the best, THE BEST! The veggies portion is generous and crispy so lately this is what I order instead of dinner, and I feel healthy and happy. Of course, to help me feel this happy I get their very stiff cocktails. It seems they never go cheap on alcohol, just the way I like it. So McMenamins cocktails taste like a dessert which will make you more than tipsy if you're not careful. All in all, this is the best place, I've found so far, to hang out an relax and drink in the suburbs. I'm thinking of throwing my own b'day party there, and that should tell you a lot.

Number one reason to be here is the beer, but the food is also mighty fine. Mac & Cheese, Jambalaya and hush puppies are my all time favorites. Terminator Stout and Hammerhead ale are two great beers- ask for the seasonal, too. Ask for a sample, they'll give you one alright. One the size of the Fremont Oktoberfest mugs, and while that's not saying a lot (three ounces) it's enough to learn if you like it. The staff is so crazy smart too, they know so much about what they are servin up. Knowing your trade- i respect that. Ask them the differences between an ale, a lager and a pils. They'll know, you bet your Irish ass they'll know. The best recommendation I can make is to get the beer sampler the first few times you go to any McMenamin's pub. This will be your best way to get to know the place in a short amount of time.

Horrid, horrid, horrid service! We had to hunt down our waitress to order, to get drink refills, to get our appetizer, to get our dinner, to get our bill and to get our credit cards back! Come to think of it our waitress disappeared half way through and we ended up with someone else who was just as bad. Food was just meh, not worth the hassle.

I need to admit first that I am a huge fan of the McMenamins chain. There isn't one south of here to the Oregon border that I haven't been to, and I was excited when we opted to try this one. We arrived around 3 in the afternoon and the place was half full - but it looked like the biggest pig sty I'd ever seen, with almost all unoccupied tables uncleared plus trash and silverware randomly on the floor. There was certainly enough staff and no one appeared that busy so I have no idea why the place was in such a state (during our stay there was some effort put into correcting the issue, but after 30 minutes it was still mostly uncleared). Once we did find a clean seat, and my attention was turned to getting a pint in me, I was then somewhat disappointed at the reduced McMenamins beer choices here in comparison to others in Seattle - but it is beer so I of course found a pint or 4 I could consume. The food was mixed. I never expect that much from McMenamins, but this was below par even for them. An Ahi burger was good but served with cold and soggy fries. The Portobello sandwich was wretched: burnt, drowning in oil, and too much of something congealed coming out of it. With the exception of a confirmation bite, it remained untouched on the plate. It's a good thing that the service was good and about as attentive as one expects from this chain. It's not, however, going to make up for a filthy establishment and sub-par pub grub and entice me to drive up from Seattle again.

This place is awesome!!!! It deserves more stars, I'm just being particularly harsh tonight. If you are looking for a good burger or fish and chips, check it out. I'm also told their beer is quite good. They are a brewery and have an interesting assortment of homeade ale's. Excellent food and a fine place to sit and talk.

This is a nice Irish Pub around the corner....Back in Redmond we liked JJ Mahoney. We recently moved to Millcreek area and just started exploring. They have good happy hour...nice service. My partner didn't like the beer he ordered and the waiter offered to replace it with a different one. They have outdoor seating too and quite nice in summer.Prices are reasonable, good service and warm atmosphere.A nice pub around the corner!

I've been here a few times, always at the insistence of someone else in our group. Every time we come here the staff treats us like we're disturbing them from something else they'd rather be doing. They don't let us put tables together when we have a big party so we have to sit at different tables. The food is bland at best. I've had a hamburger here that must have been frozen beef because it had no flavor AT ALL! I've also had a pasta dish that had absolutely no flavor. I asked for some chopped garlic to try to liven it up, but to no avail. I suggested they add sun-dried tomatoes to it. I think they eventually took it off the menu. The last time I was there it was for a going away party. I just had a drink and even then the server gave me the stink eye. Thank goodness Shawn O'Donnell's went up just down the street so I don't have to come here ever again!

Here's the deal with any McMenamins restaurant you go to. Expect to wait. Do not go starving, or else you are going to be in a bad mood. McMenamins is a place where you go to with some friends, order a few beers, strike up a conversation, and then your food arrives. It is not a family restaurant. It is not a place to go to when you are starving and need food NOW. It is for the casual diner who doesn't mind a pint or two before dinner. Go for the beer, which there is plenty of. Also check out any spirits that come from their Edgefield location.

  • Kirk B.

Avoid the place! The service was tremendously slow, the server was oblivious to the need to offer any assistance. The beer was tasteless and flat. The beer is supposed to have a head!! After waiting too long, we canceled our food order, so I have no idea about the food quality. I am pretty certain there are restaurants in the area that would prefer to serve their customers quality beverages, provide good service, and keep them coming back. Find one of those places instead of stopping here.

i'm a fan of mcmen's in general. i know the food is not the greatest but it's the experience. where else can you get tater tots? we loved our server, giving us jokes and sarcastic remarks. even got a free beer for my birthday. this place surprised me cuz it's in a STRIP MALL. i'm used to the mcmen's in the city and i was just really surprised this mcmen's was in a strip mall that just said PUB on it. they also have a good size patio area to eat outside when the weather is nice.

I will have to return to give a more accurate review. I came on a Sunday evening and they were short staffed. Although the place was at most half-full, service suffered tremendously. However when I finally got my $9 cheeseburger, it was the most bland, tasteless thing I've ever eaten. I'll give them a second chance when they aren't understaffed, but I won't waste my money on a burger.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday, and it was the worst experience from start to finish that I have had in years. Pitchers are only 48 ounces (3 beers). Service was terrible, we had already drank 2 pitchers before we could even get the server to put in our lunch orders (about 45 mins in). Half the orders at our table came back wrong, tater tots were missing ranch (also 7$ WTF?), cobb salad was missing chicken (WTF?), and monte christo sandwich had no powdered sugar. There were less than 10 people in the restaurant, yet somehow it took us just under 2 hours before we were done eating because the service was so terrible. On top of that all their food is overpriced by at least 2-3$ (Cobb salad for 13.95??? and Philly Cheestake sandwich for 15.95????). Anyways I have heard good things about this chain but I will NEVER EVER go back to this location. It was so bad that we took the comment cards home with us just to make sure they actually got mailed in.

I am from Portland, where McMenamins originated. I love McMenamins. Good Food and Excellent Beer. We love the Cajon Tots and the Wheat Beer. Not a fan of the Daily Specials at the Mill Creek location. The specials are usually something I have never heard of or sounds too weird. The salads are not so great and the soup of the day is usually something I have never heard of. Something we loved at the McMenamins restaurants in the Portland area is "scooby snacks". They are little bite size corn dogs - and soooo yummy. But this Mill Creek location does not offer Scooby Snacks. When we asked why, they said that they were trying to offer a more healthy selection. But when I want to go for a Beer I am not usually concerned about eating healthy. Also, one time we ordered a Wheat Beer and for some reason the brewers strayed from the recipe and it was super smokey, as if burnt. It tasted gross - so if they say that the Wheat Beer is smokey - don't get it. Since this is our only local option for McMenamins we keep coming back for the tots and beer but that is all.

Outstanding beers, wines, spirits and hard cider all made by McMenamin's. Great food, too, with the exception of the consistently soggy and not hot/fresh enough fresh cut fries. Service is a little spotty, but they always are quick to make up for snafus and the servers attitudes are really great, which I really appreciate.

It's a McMenamins. I don't know what else to say--it's just like every other McMenamins in the Seattle/Portland area. The menu is the same, the beers are the same the atmosphere is the same. If you're in Mill Creek and want a McMenamins beer which I have twice in 3 or 4 years, stop on in. If you like McMenamins in other areas, you will like this one too. If not, you won't.

I kept hearing about the tots, over and over with "the tots are perfection", "you're gonna love the tots" and "seriously, one of these days I'll take you there and you'll understand. Because tots." My husband made good on his promise. And tots. Yeah. Try the tots. The atmosphere is casual and fun, the staff is friendly and outgoing. The whole family enjoys going, and yes, we all get the tots.

We love walking here on a nice day for a pint and happy hour snacks. I'd only suggest to have more vegetarian options or to make the few options less greasy. It is a pub so greasy pub food is to be expected but they use a little too much oil or butter on the sandwiches. I'd love a simple mozz, tomato and spinach sandwich lightly toasted with no butter. Maybe being picky. Still love this place. Love their beer!

Not my favorite McMenamins by any means... it's sort of like a McMenamins that's been yuppied up due to the clientele that lives in the area (no offence intended). With that being said, the food was good (I recommend trying one of their burgers or their pork sliders), the beer was flowing (I personally like their seasonal cider), and the service was better than average. I have three real issues with this place: 1. The decor is LAAAAME compared to EVERY other McMenamins I've been to, and I've been to a lot. Yeah, I know, it's in a strip mall; but seriously?! You can do better! 2. They tried passing feta cheese for cheese curds in their poutine (Yes, you're reading what I said correctly). As a poutine aficionado, (or even as someone who has two eyes and has eaten poutine before), the substitution was laughable at best (and insulting at worst). Needless to say, I wasn't "wowed." 3. Their black and tan brownie with bourbon caramel sauce is not even close to being as good as it is at other locations. Not sure why that is (I'm assuming they make them all from the same recipe), but we've ordered it several times now, just to make sure the first time wasn't a fluke, and both times it was mediocre at best. Other than those three things, this place is pretty much like most of other McMenamins venues. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by.

This is one of my very favorite dinner and drinks locations in the north end. The atmosphere isn't as funky as the location near Seattle Center, but it's still got that neighborhood, sort of quirky vibe that I love. Their happy hour specials are amazing. The food is consistently good, the bartenders make awesome cocktails, the beer is tasty, and the staff are friendly. What more can you ask for?

Met a couple of friends here before attending another engagement for a quick brew. Parking is free in a private lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Tabs are easily split. A great outdoor seating area is offered with several tables. Each table is equipped with a large umbrella for those who do not like to sit directly in the sunshine. There was a small fire stove to help ward off the chill in the cooler evenings. The outdoor area appeared to be family friendly since I seen a few families with kids seated. Although the seating was family friendly, happy hour was still offered. Love that! Happy Hour runs daily from 3pm-6pm then again at 10pm-close. I ordered a couple pints of Hammerhead for $4 (hh). Tasty brew. Reminded me a bit of Manny's. My girlfriends ordered the Ruby brew and stated that it tasted like grapefruit. For a quick snack we ordered some Cajun Tots for $2.50 (hh). The tots were plentiful, crispy and deliciously seasoned. Ranch was served as a dipping sauce. We went with the spicy mustard seed mustard that our waitress recommended instead. Great recommendation! Thanks for the quick pit stop and refreshing slurps McMenamin's!

Stopped by to get our passport stamps, eat dinner and to rest on our journey home from Victoria B.C. Expensive for a Mcminamins. Don't come on a Sunday because chances are they've not only run out of their soup special (at 6pm), they've run out of burgers (!). Waiting on that Monday delivery, apparently. Those who show up on Sunday be damned! First time here and the food was pretty bad. We ordered the TNT basket and the chicken was burnt. My kid's hotdog had grill marks that looked like someone took black paint and drew them on. However, I understand that they were short staffed in the kitchen tonight due to an accident with their other cook. So, I'll give a pass on the food. On the plus, friendly, apologetic, staff. And it's a Mcminamins, so decent music and good beer.

Number one. Best totts you could find anywhere. Number two, all of the sandwiches are incredible you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Even the TNT basKet is really original tasting and delicious. Number three, their original beers are great. Also, you have to get the pulled pork sandwich if you come here. And one last thing, their ranch has a super incredible/original taste. Been here many times. Don't understand the low rating on here.

Beer as always, solid. Love it. Service was also good. The happy hour preztel and Cajun tots. Great! But 3.50 for a 3 bite pulled pork slider. Was ridiculous, even for a happy hour food item. Seriously this "slider" was tiny. I mean, I know sliders arent full sized sandwiches, but, this was tiny and not worth it. It had more sauce and slaw than meat. So we paid 3.50 for a bun and sauce. We heard from our server that the "mini" hamburger was about the same size for 4.50. Glad we didn't order that!

I must say, so far this is my favorite strip mall McMenamins I have been too. The staff is what makes this location special. I have been here twice and each time I had that "Cheers" feeling where everyone in the bar is your friend. Really cool people. Be sure to try their BBQ Pulled Pork. I am a bit of a BBQ nut and I can tell you they have first rate pulled pork. I just wish this place was closer to my house.

I am conflicted in writing this review. Let's start with the good things. The beer is pretty good. They have all of the usual McMenamin's offerings, BUT I highly recommend the Black Widow Stout (seasonal) and the Blackberry Cider. Any cider is amazing, but the blackberry is just pure happiness in a glass. The location is OK. It's in a strip mall, which is weird for a McMenamins, but it's a convenient location so whatevs. The pork slider is freaking AMAZING. They put some kind of special sauce (mayo) which gives it the perfect flavor. And finally, the service was great. Our server was friendly, attentive, and did a great job. Now for the bad. The food, other than the Cajun Tots and Pork Slider is just eh, which is a bummer because ll other McMenamins have pretty decent pub food! The hummus plate (which is usually really good!) was eh. The hummus was lacking that usual garlic flavor. Instead it was bland. But I think that the biggest issue was the "poutine." It arrived at our table and had so many things wrong, that any Canadian would be pissed off. First, it had a tiny bit of gravy. But the biggest cardinal sin was that they tried to pass off clumps of FETA as cheese curds. Um, ew, and no. We sent it back and said that this is not poutine, and those are not cheese curds. Turns out that the kitchen was using Feta instead of curds since they ran out...which explains why the food here is Eh. I's highly recommend drinking beer/cider and eating cajun tots and pork sliders. Eat anything else at your own risk.

No. The service was average and the food was terrible. They brought out the wrong burger the first time, and it was burnt to a crisp (I asked for med/well). When I informed them they'd gotten the order wrong, I asked for my replacement burger to be medium. The next was nearly as burnt, and just as bland. I had to ask THREE times for a side of ranch. The final bill for a burger and soda was $18.25. Ouch. I wonder if anyone ever comes here twice.

Good customer service and the food was delicious, I ordered the poblano pepper burger and had the cream of mushroom soup as a side, must say that the burger was the best I've had in a very long time and the soup was simply delicious. Waitress was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. It's a nice, clean, and quiet location. .i definitely recommend coming here :)

Stopped here before my flight home for lunch. There was one waitress waiting on about 8 tables at a time. She was quick and we didn't have to wait for anything except our check. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich without the jalapeños. It was pretty good. Had a little spice to the sauce. And it came with tater tots. Finally a place with something other than fries. The strawberry lemonade is pretty good as well. I can see this place being loud and busy on a Friday night. They have outside seating as well.

I still love this place. My husband and I go here at least once a week, for their late night happy hour. The food is reasonable priced and all kinds of good beer, wine and well cocktail drinks. The happy hour hummus is my favorite; pita, hummus, fresh veggies. Our usual waitress is Erin and she is the best! Great service and she is always attentive. We love coming here. A must if you are in the area.
